You may be enrolled in a Palm Beach Gardens or Florida Medicare Advantage plan that will not be renewed for the following year. In addition, the plan may have changes to your costs and coverage. Before the Annual Enrollment Period begins on October 15, you will receive a document, called the Annual Notice of Change. The document will contain a side by side comparison of your current plan and the plan for the next year. Make sure to carefully review the Annual Notice of Change your insurance company sent you. If you are unhappy with the changes, call me to discuss changing to another plan.
Medicare Advantage Annual Enrollment Period. October 15-December 7, 2026
The Medicare Annual Enrollment Period is when clients can enroll in or change their Medicare Advantage or Medicare Drug Plans. Any changes they make take effect on January 1, 2027. During this time, Medicare beneficiaries can enroll in a new Medicare Advantage plan or switch to Original Medicare and add a Medicare Supplement plan.
If your Medicare Advantage plan is not being renewed, you will get a Guaranteed Issue enrollment in a Medicare Supplement plan. That means, the insurance company can not ask you Medical Questions or check your Medicare Record and Prescriptions. However, you will need to save your notice of non-renewal. That way, if you apply for a Medicare Supplement plan, you can need to send them a copy of your notice of non-renewal from your current plan.
If you decide to enroll in a Medicare Supplement plan, you will need to add a separate Medicare Drug plan. You can apply for a new Medicare Supplement plan anytime during the year. However, if you don’t have a Guaranteed Issue or Open Enrollment period, you will have to answer Medical questions. That means, you enrollment is not guaranteed.
How to Find a New Medicare Advantage Plan
Compare other similar plans available in your area. If you are currently enrolled in a Medicare PPO, you might want to switch to another PPO. On the other hand, you might want to reduce your costs and switch to a Medicare HMO, or vice versa, switch from an HMO to a PPO.
