The Florida Senior Health Insurance market offers many plans for Florida residents. There are many options so that retirees find the best Medicare Plan for their needs.
Many retirees and working Seniors move to Florida. Once they are enrolled in Medicare, they will need to Choose their Medicare Insurance Options. These options are available around the State of Florida. However, they vary in costs and benefits between counties.
Medicare A (Hospital Insurance) and B (Medical Insurance) don’t cover all your costs. Medicare Part B only pays 80% so you will need to pay 20% plus an annual deductible. If you are hospitalized, you will find that Medicare Part A requires you to pay a large deductible and copays. In addition, you will need to enroll in prescription drug coverage.
Medicare Supplement Plans
Medicare Supplement Plans are also known as Medigap Plans. That is because they pay some or all of what Original Medicare A and B don’t cover. There are 10 Standardized Medicare Supplement Plans which vary in their coverage and monthly premium. A separate drug plan will need to be added.
Medicare Advantage Plans
These plans include the same Medicare A and B benefits as Original Medicare. They may also include Prescription Drug Coverage. They may also include Extra Free Benefits such as dental, vision, hearing, gym memberships and overt-the-counter health and wellness products. The plans vary around Florida.
